Intentional Practice for Museums: A Guide for Maximizing Impact Book Signing

Intentional practice is an impact-driven way of thinking and working that places a museum’s raison d’être—achieving impact—at the center of its work.  Intended for intentionally-minded museum professionals, the book describes the seven principles of intentional practice and provides basic intentional-practice strategies, exercises, and facilitation questions so they can begin facilitating impact-driven workshops at their museums. Copies of Intentional Practice for Museums: A Guide for Maximizing Impact will be available for purchase, and Randi will be available to sign them.

Location: AAM Bookstore, MuseumExpo

Looking In|Reaching Out: The Yin Yang of Outreach

What do we really know about outreach strategies for traditionally underserved communities? In this poster session, Stephanie will present results from the evaluation of Inside|Out, an outreach program funded by the Knight Foundation that brings reproductions of artworks from six museums’ collections to outdoor community venues. The presentation will emphasize the “how” and “why” of these results by contextualizing them within an understanding of how the program was planned and implemented.

Location: P13, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Hall DE
