PROGRAM EVALUATION

Using evaluation to help museums navigate complexity and contribute to social good through their programs and initiatives

Finding your program's contributions in a broader context and surfacing where you fit into a dynamic, ever-changing world

We help you shape the evolution of programs with data-driven decision-making.

We harness our expertise evaluating a wide range of programs to connect you with the right research approach for your program and questions

Whether you’re launching a multi-year community-based program about climate change, a K-12 single-visit program, or an intensive fellowship program, we can help you use evaluation as a tool for making a positive impact.

EMBRACING COMPLEXITY

Museum programs are rooted in a complex history and intertwined with present-day circumstances. We recognize the systems that programs exist within, helping you adapt to change while staying focused on why your program exists in the first place.

INFUSING CREATIVITY

We can measure (just about) anything and get to the heart of what you really want to know. We blend our expertise in traditional research methods with our flair for innovation to create a customized methodological approach.

WORKING TOGETHER

The best collaborations are fueled by trust, honesty, and an appreciation for what everyone brings to the table. We are your thought partners and work hard to help you connect the dots between evaluation data and action steps to strengthen your program.

Kera Collective provided critical insights to help the Saint Louis Art Museum expand the Romare Bearden Graduate Fellowship. Their discovery and analysis process engaged stakeholders from throughout the museum in not only defining the fellowship and assessing the field, but also in charting the path for the program’s future. By the time we received the culminating case study, we had broad institutional support for implementing the study’s recommendations.

Using Outcomes and Evaluation to Inform Development of an Elementary School Art Museum Program

As a thought partner, we supported the Philadelphia Museum of Art over three years in aligning a multi-visit school program to its intended impact.

Creating and Testing a Theory of Change for a Long-running Diversity Fellowship Program

We measured the impact and effectiveness of the Saint Louis Art Museum’s long-running fellowship program, designed to create a pipeline for people of color who will work in and lead the museum field.

Young Leaders for Climate Resilience Program Evaluation

We measured the impact of The Wild Center’s place-based and youth-focused program focused on strengthening environmental literacy and community resilience to climate change.

Using Puppetry to Make Connections to Students on the Autistic Spectrum Program Evaluation

We evaluated a series of workshops designed by The Jim Henson Foundation to teach school counselors and teachers how to use puppets to engage with students on the autistic spectrum.
